Shepherd Independent School District (SISD) is currently taking
nominations for students to be screened for the gifted and talented
program for the 2014-2015 school year. Parents, family, friends, or
community members may nominate a student for the screening process.
The nomination of students is the primary means of beginning
the screening process. Screening will consist of gathering data on the
students nominated by way of standardized/criterion referenced tests, mental abilities tests, teacher checklist, the Structure of Intellect Test, and personal interview. Program placement will be
determined through the completion of a matrix on each student. Notification of program placement
will occur before the start of the 2013-2014 school year.
Should you have a student you would like to nominate for program screening you may pick
up a nomination form from any Shepherd ISD campus office. The nomination form should be
completed and returned to the counselor’s office by Monday, February 24th.
